Yang de Marinis, PhD

Dr. Yang de Marinis is a prominent global diabetes scientist and an experienced entrepreneur. She is the leader of the global study behind Lundoch Diagnostics.

Dr. Yang de Marinis also holds several academic positions including Associate Professor in diabetes functional genomics at Lund University (Sweden); Professor in AI-clinical application at Shandong University (China); and Researcher in pancreatic islet physiology and spatial transcriptomics at the University of Oxford (UK). Furthermore, Dr. Yang de Marinis is also the Regional Coordinator and Board Member at Diabetes Sverige (Diabetes Sweden).

    Board Member

    Björn Öste. MSc, is a seasoned entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in creating successful international companies. He is the co-founder of Oatly AB, the first and largest oat milk brand in the world, and Aventure AB, a company that produces foods scientifically proven to reduce the risk of diabetes and other metabolic health issues. Currently based in the US, Björn is leading the global launch of Good Idea, a sparkling water that helps lower blood sugar levels after meals.

    Kristian Ford, lawyer and Partner at Vinge, one of the leading law firms in the Nordics, with a LL.M. as well as a M.Sc. from the School of Economics and Management at Lund University. Kristian has extensive experience of M&A, private equity and general corporate matters from working with domestic and global clients across a wide range of industries. He assists businesses and their owners with legal advice within M&A, general business and contract law as well as corporate law.

    Scientific advisor - Europe

    Patrik Rorsman is Professor of Diabetic Medicine at the Oxford Centre for Diabetes at the University of Oxford. Rorsman was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS) UK and the Academy of Medical Sciences (FMedSci) UK. He received numerous scientific distinctions, including the Minkowski Prize, the Göran Gustafsson Prize and the Albert Renold Prize.

  • Claes Wollheim

    Claes Wollheim is an international authority on beta-cell biology and diabetes research. He has dedicated almost five decades to preclinical diabetes research. He received numerous scientific distinctions, including the Claude Bernard Prize of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD), honorary doctor degrees (Doctor Honoris Causa) of Semmelweis University, Budapest and Lund University as well as an elected member of the Swiss Academia of Medical Sciences and Academia Europaea.

  • Gunnar Engström

    Scientific advisor - Europe

    Gunnar Engström is Professor and Research Team Manager of Cardiovascular Research - Epidemiology at Lund University, Sweden. The focus of his research is Cardiovascular and Lung Diseases. His specific projects include studies of biomarkers of importance for the risk of heart attack and stroke, risk factors for atrial fibrillation and cardioembolic stroke, as well as the relationship between lung function and risk of cardiovascular disease.

    Hozan Hussen, PhD., MD, is Internal Medicine Resident at the Department of Medicine, Mälarsjukhuset, Eskilstuna (Sweden). Dr. Hussen received medical and research training in both Iraq and Sweden, and has profound experience in internal medicine, endocrinology and diabetes research, and acts as the Medical Advisor for the Mid-East Region at Lundoch.
